Just Pre-Easter Blues

I’m really sad we can’t go to church… 🥺

Our family will be doing our own Resurrection gathering but I love to be in the presence of Christ’s [bigger] body. Me, I’m just one part…our family, a few parts. But altogether, we make an entire body of Jesus. A body that does many works with many voices of praise. And yes, maybe, I’m a little sad that all the little old ladies won’t come and bless Aure when they see her in her cute Easter dress. I love those tender hands and those words of blessing from complete strangers.

As much as Jesus lives in me, it’s those people who’ve been living with Him far longer than me who reach out and touch me and remind me. Their wrinkled hands of love, peace, gentleness remind me that this life with Jesus is eternal. That we are supposed to touch others, whether we know them or not, and bless them with the presence of the Lord.

Jesus overcame death. Death is pestilence, hatred, sin, all the ugliness that we cower from or fall slave to. Jesus rose again despite all that tried to hold Him back.

Death FAILED. Christ didn’t give us a false hope. He lives His promise to the end, He raised!!!

Raised so that we could rise. So we could have heaven. And that means we are to share heaven, too. So I’m thankful for Jesus. And I’m thankful for those He raised that helped raise me and those that will come to know Him and will also rise in His glory.

2 Timothy 1:10
“but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

  1. I really missed going to church today too, first Easter service at home since I became a believer. It felt weird. In some ways Easter has been more meaningful this year, at home, with the children and no distractions or busy events. Hope you enjoyed your day 😊

  2. Definitely a deep feeling that seems like all Christ followers are going through, but I am also excited to see how the Holy Spirit will maneuver in each individual life while we quietly celebrate Resurrection Day of our Savior.

  3. I’m with you on this one. This will be the first Resurrection Sunday I have not been to corporate worship in decades. While I will miss the gathering, I pray I won’t miss the moment of worship to the One who conquered death.
